Backlinks
I’ve come across a very solid and reliable source of high quality backlinks that I’m using for some of my own sites, and am having really positive results with them. I’ve seen a 30% increase in traffic for my main site (http://www.newindiebands.com), and a once-volatile, highly competitive SERP position not only stabilize, but actually bump upward and remain in the 1-3 position. In the time I’ve been testing these links out, I’ve made no other changes to my “marketing” (which, to be honest, is just Twittering about the subject).

Backlinkis, when done in the right way, indicates to Google that you hold authority with other sites already, and that you should be given authority with them. Google weighs the amount of weight the link of your site carries by two measures (that can be reasonably proven): PageRank (arguably the most important) and context (still important, but a little less than PR). Long story short – if you aren’t getting high quality backlinks, you aren’t getting the search engine position that you probably could.
